Hiking trails with spectacular views and sandy beaches during summer! This recreation area is also open during the winter months and features Northern Michigan Best Little Ski Hill with equipment rentals, concessions, a sledding hill and cross-country skiing. LOCAL TIP: main trails are lighted at night and there is a great disc golf course!

Beautiful trails to hike right out to the dunes on Lake Michigan, stunning sunset views and secluded coves for bonfires in the evening.

The Disk Golf course runs up and down the Mt. McSauba Ski Hill and through the woods and past the skating rink for a challenging game. It's natural setting takes advantage of the terrain and many different obstacles to make play interesting.

If you don't have time to make it to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Mt. McSauba offers a substitute (albeit much smaller dunes). Huffing and puffing to the top of the dunes then running down to the lake just lets you know you are not in Kansas (or New Jersey or Illinois or the Detroit area) anymore.
