Aviation enthusiasts & history buffs will appreciate the Exhibit Gallery’s professionally designed displays with artifacts tracing aviation & military history, uniforms, aircraft models & hundreds of aviation memorabilia, a 52-foot “Wave Wall” tracing significant milestones in the history of aviation from before the Wright Brothers. You can literally spend hours reading & exploring this one-of-a-kind Smoky Mountain attraction.

Another entry in our long list of must-see museums is the Tennessee Museum of Aviation. The museum has been a community staple since 1984 and stands as the second largest air force museum in the United States. Located in the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport in Sevierville, it showcases everything from trainers and fighters to helicopters, jets, and amphibious craft. If you visit you might be in for an additional surprise as they have unscheduled flight demonstrations all the time! If this is something you really want to see, you can also give the museum a call to see when their next demo is. While a lot of these tend to be unscheduled, the museum personnel typically know when one is going to occur so don’t be afraid to reach out!
