While everyone piles into Garden of the Gods, check out this local gem. RRCOS was originally a quarry for red sandstone to be made into building faccades, it's been preserved into a hidden local paradise for hikers, bikers, or travelers.
Beautiful views and great trails for hiking or biking. Not as crazy busy as Garden of the Gods.

“We LOVE our zoo! There are so many interactive exhibits and the zoo itself is situated on a beautiful mountainside that overlooks the city. Feeding the giraffes is always a highlight, and if you aren’t scared of heights, we highly recommend the sky ride (we like to bring a picnic lunch with us to the top). It can get very busy in the summer months, so going first thing or later in the day can be better to avoid crowds. Wear comfortable shoes because there’s a lot of uphill and downhill walking.”
