During World War II, the site of the last resistance of Czech paratroopers Adolf Opálek, Jozef Gabčík, Jan Kubiš, Josef Valčík, Josef Bublík, Jan Hrubý and Jaroslav Švarc, who participated in the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.
