This massive stretch of family is great for a picnic or just a walk. In spring, the crocuses bloom which attracts lots of attention not just locally but also nationally since they are beautiful.

This 200 acres of open grassland and verges, wraps around the main urban 'old town' of Harrogate. The Stray exists for the people of the town and is a popular spot for picnicking, kite-flying, outdoor games and local football matches. This area of grassland surrounds much of the town, you will never be far away from shops, toilets, public transport and other local parks and open spaces. If you're a runner or fancy trying a 5k to burn off all the calories taken on board in Harrogate's wonderful eateries, why not try Harrogate Parkrun 9.00 a.m. every Saturday morning? It's fun & free! Also free entry on November 7, 2016. to Harrogate Round Table fireworks and bonfire, the Stray. Bonfire lit 6.30pm; fireworks 7pm. Fireworks can be viewed from the comfort of the flat too!
