With 1,866 hectares, Desierto de los Leones is a lovely place to walk, hike or do mountain-biking. It has an ex-convent from the XVII century. Quesadilla restaurants are nearby.

The place was a refuge for assailants, a barracks for Zapatista troops and a glass factory. The former convent retains much of its originality such as the cells and oratories where they performed spiritual rites, the basement remains intact, one of the most attractive places in the former convent that today tells thousands of stories and legends.
