State College. The Evergreen State College is a public liberal arts college in Olympia, Washington. Founded in 1967, Evergreen offers a non-traditional undergraduate curriculum in which students design their own paths of study. Full-time students enroll in interdisciplinary academic programs instead…
Strange to imagine walking around a college campus but Evergreen is situated on more than 1,000 acres of forest. It includes a large network of trails leading to the college’s Organic Farm, serene forested areas, and a beach on the Puget Sound. Three bucks to park for the day or find a meter.
Park in "F Lot," on Driftwood Road behind The Evergreen State College. Trails meander throughout the forest, leading down to the beach of Eld Inlet, all owned by the college and undeveloped.

“A great place to sit on the beach or the dock or rent kayaks and see the area from the water. There is a food window, little store and a boat launch.”

“3 miles of walking trails in lush forest, ending at an old train trestle which now serves as seal, bird & bat habitat. Bring binoculars of you have them! WA Discover Pass required to park & unfortunately you cannot pay for a pass on site. Alternatively, park at the Chehalis Western Trail parking lot for free & walk down the road to the Conservation Area. ”
