Loch Doon is a freshwater loch in Carrick, Scotland. The River Doon issues from its northern end, while the loch itself receives waters from Loch Enoch via Eglin Lane. In the 13th century, it was a site of Balloch Castle, owned by the Earls of Carrick.
Just south of Dalmellington. You can follow the road on the western side of Loch Doon for several miles. During the summer, the 'Roundhouse' cafe is open most days for refreshment and snacks. If you have a boat (kayak or inflatable), you can launch it from several places.
