Cash only bar with some local bands, bluegrass sometimes, very local crowd that is more middle-age+ than college, very dog friendly (they can go inside!)
Neighborhood bar, pool tables, beer garden, live music. When Gillian Welch is playing anywhere near Providence, you might see her her with her hubby, a native of The Biggest Little.
Dog Friendly, full of charm, this cash only pub is a personal favorite. Live music happens on Wednesday nights.

“The place where the cool kids go. Between the reggae night, funk, retro 45 spinning DJs, karaoke, solid bills, sea-shanty sing-alongs and the best sound mix for a venue its size, The Parlour always seems to be wearing sunglasses no matter what time of day it is, plus it’s just close enough to Pawtucket to never sell out. The Parlour allows bands of all types to perform, but bills are finely curated to make sure that each concert night is the best it can be.”

“Thayer is the heart of the college district. Grab a coffee and spend an hour or a day shopping, dining and people-watching. Catch a movie at the Avon, pick up souvenirs at the Brown bookstore, grab good eats and drinks at any number of restaurants from burritos to go to Indian food to to Greek to American BBQ to vegan to ice cream and much much more. Thayer is a half mile walk or bus ride south on Hope St.”

“The Library opened this classic Venetian Renaissance building in March 1900. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, the Library is a prime example of turn-of-the-century American architecture. Providence Public Library differs from most, in that it is privately governed and supported, but it serves the people in the best “public” sense of the word. The Alfred Brownell collection of ship models is on permanent display in the Ship Room, and the Paul C. Nicholson whaling collection includes a number of both artistic pieces of scrimshaw and several hundred logbooks from whaling vessels.Guided architectural tours of the historic library are offered every other Tuesday.”
