You simply must visit and scale the dunes for some of the most beautiful views in the area
It's a national treasure-only 45 mins away. Good Harbor Bay is a great beach, and you can usually find a secluded spot by walking a bit.
No trip to the Leelanau is complete without visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The options are vast, so do a little research ahead of time to figure out which activities/locations are best for you.
While it is a bit of a hike from Bellaire it might be closer than you have ever been! About 60 miles (1 hour 20 min drive) away, many of our local guests make a day trip of the legendary dunes.
Always fun to climb the dunes and run back down! In the winter you can sled down!
If you're planning on site seeing at all, Sleeping Bear Dunes is the very top of the must see list. Breathtaking views of natural phenomenon. Feeling strong? Run down the dunes and enjoy the rigorous climb back up, and let me know if you beat my 25 minute record!
