The historic moated castle of Wijnendale north of the town center, surrounded by 180 hectares of forest, is home to the glorious past from the 11th century to the present. The museum shows you life in the castle and tells you the stories about Leopold III during the 1940s, the counts of Flanders and dukes of Burgundy.
