Farmers Market - Tuesday & Fridays Melton’s Farmers market was the first of its kind in the region, focusing exclusively on the promotion of local businesses and providing a diverse range of specialist produce, including locally farmed Bison, Goat & Ostrich meat. Held at the Cattle Market every Tuesday and Friday morning. Melton Street Market Come and visit one of the Country’s oldest and finest markets. Every Tuesday and Saturday you can experience the hustle and bustle of the town’s busy street market. Based around the Market Place in the safe pedestrianised area of the town, the streets are filled with stalls selling everything from clothing to fresh produce.

Melton Mowbray Market is the largest town centre livestock market in the country and has been in existence for 1,000 years, predating the Domesday Book. The main market has been held on a Tuesday since at least 1324 when it was granted a charter by King Edward II. The Tuesday and Friday markets are among the most popular regular events in Melton today, with car boot sales on a Sunday.
