This scenic area is located on the top of the bluff to the north of the Airbnb (2 min drive). It's the perfect place to catch the sunrise or sunset over the bluffs and Mississippi River. There are easy hiking trails at this location located in a prairie.

Vetsch Park is our favorite local hiking spot. It has numerous trails with one leading to a great overlook of the Mississippi River. This trail is a hidden gem of La Crescent with fewer visitors than the larger La Crosse trail systems. If you want to hike al the trails here, it typically takes an hour.

Myrick park is located near the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse next to the marsh. This park has a large play area for kids, an interpretive center to learn about natural resources of the area, and trails connecting to downtown La Crosse.
