Sightseeing

A walk around Queens Park just at the end of the road is a must for anyone staying in Strathbungo. Head up the hill and enjoy the views or even better grab a coffee and a pastry from one of the lovely local cafes and enjoy them in the park. There’s also a Park Run (5km) here every Saturday morning which starts at 9:30am near the bandstand.

A beautiful country park with highland coos and Pollok House to explore. Lots or woodland walks and even some light (usually muddy) mountain bike trails to explore.

Neighbourhoods

The apartment is situated in the tiny neighbourhood of Strathbungo (or Bungo as it’s nicknamed) which comprises just a few tree-lined streets of beautiful town houses designed by the famous Glasgow architect Alexander ‘the Greek’ Thompson in the mid 1800s. Every summer the neighbourhood comes together for a festival in the back lanes ‘Bungo in the Lanes’. At Christmas there’s also a great scene of beautiful lit Christmas trees decorating street from the residents front windows. The residents of Strathbungo take great pride in our little neighbourhood and look forward to welcoming you to it too. It’s full of artists and local producers. We even have a local beer brewed in the lanes - Bungo Brew Co. which you can find sold at The Wee Beer shop just down the on Pollokshawd Road. There are plenty of bars and cafes in the vicinity to sample too. A favourite of ours is The Bungo on Nithsdale Road where dogs are welcome. They do a great range of food and drinks and even have a weekly pub quiz. Also try out Grain and Grind coffee shop for a great local coffee. They have a few shops in the southside now with a cafe where you can eat in at Battlefield, just the other corner of Queens Park (and yes, they’re dog friendly too!).
