Great views over the lake and the Locarno-Ascona area can be savored from here. The cable car from Locarno city center to Orselina provides a quick and easy climb unless you have your hiking shoes with you.

Madona del Sasso, one of the most important religious and historical sites in Ticino. I recommend the train of via delle palme so you can enjoy the view of the church as you walk up the huge rock. Close to our Airbnb only 15-20 minutes walk.

The sanctuary is located in Orselina, above Locarno, which in addition to hosting numerous works of art offers a wonderful view. You can reach it on foot through the steep Via Crucis or by crossing the path in the wild valley. For the less athletic there is a funicular that starts from Locarno

Il santuario della Madonna del Sasso, meta di pellegrinaggi Eretta nel XVI secolo, sorprende con i suoi affreschi e le sculture in legno di dimensioni reali. Il luogo più famoso, meta di pellegrinaggi, della Svizzera italiana merita una visita anche per la vista spettacolare su Locarno e sul Lago Maggiore.
