This is a fun activity if you’re sore from hiking and just want to relax and enjoy the scenery. There’s an entrance fee ($15 per person) that includes a shuttle ride to the top of Pikes Peak. A car is needed because the shuttle begins about halfway up. They used to have a train that left from…
America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak, is easternmost peak in the United States over 14,000 feet in elevation and the view from its summit inspired Katharine Lee Bates to write the lyrics for “America the Beautiful” in 1895.
The drive up this mountain and back down usually takes the majority of a half day, especially if you stop for some famous hot doughnuts. If you are from a much lower elevation I would strongly recomend putting this towards the end of your stay as most tend to struggle aout 8k elevation.
This is the 14er that you can see from everywhere in Colorado Springs. It's a great hike, but be prepared for the long hike (around 10 hours). Bring a hydration source such as a Camelback as well as water purification tablets, because you'll need them. If you don't want to hike it, you can also hop…

Beautiful & superb altitude! Great little gift shop & some eats. Excellent place for Big Foot sightings as well!

“Old Colorado City is a hidden gem. I’ve talked to natives who have lived in Colorado their whole lives and they don’t even know about it. It’s about a half a mile long but contains some of the top restaurants in the area. There are also events there on the weekends, such as art fairs and music festivals.”
