Absolutely gorgeous beyond words, with many amazing excursions like touring or just seeing Mount Etna, an active volcano! I could spend an entire vacation just in this town.

If you plan to go to Taormina, I recommend to spend a couple of hours at the beautiful beache Isola bella . Taormina is a very fancy town full of restaurants, shops and expensive resorts. The old Greek theater is very suggestive, with a breathtaking view of the Sicilian coast at sunset which is worth going, though you may want to consider the crowd and the prices first.

Taormina is a hilltop town on the east coast of Sicily. It sits near Mount Etna, an active volcano with trails leading to the summit. The town is known for the Teatro Antico di Taormina, an ancient Greco-Roman theater still used today. Near the theater, cliffs drop to the sea forming coves with sandy beaches.
