Beautiful State Park with hiking trails, historic buildings (with restaurant & hotel) among other things.
Letchworth is about an hr NW of the bungalow and offers spectacular gorge scenery and numerous trails. Definitely worth a visit!
Voted the #1 State Park in the country! Hiking, biking, and iconic views of the 'Grand Canyon of the East'. Absolutely gorgeous waterfalls and beautiful CCC era stonework.
Take a scenic drive, stop at the Glen Iris Inn, or enjoy a hike to the waterfalls at Letchworth State Park. Some trails you may have all to yourself.
Recommended, well, because it's Letchworth, one of the most beautiful creation's I've ever seen.
The waterfalls and gorges are amazing. A great place to spend the day hiking.
The #1 state park in the United States according to USA Today. Spend the day looking at the gorge, the river and creeks. Swim in the pool. Have a picnic. Tons of fun!
The park prominently features three large waterfalls on the Genesee River, which flows within a deep gorge that winds through the park. The rock walls of the gorge, which rise up to 550 feet in places, prompted the area's reputation as the "Grand Canyon of the East".
The cottage is only 4.5 miles from the entrance. The "Grand Canyon of the East". Gorgeous, especially in the Fall!
The next best thing to the Grand Canyon east of the Mississippi! I love stopping into some of the pull off areas to see the majesty of nature.
Amazing views, hiking, cross-country skiing, camping and events. Referred to as the Grand Canyon of the East. Beautiful waterfalls.
Enjoy the beauty of nature at Letchworth State Park, the Grand Canyon of the East, which spans 14 thousand acres along the majestic Genesee River. Letchworth State Park is the perfect year-round.

“Sister site to the Darwin Martin House, when the Martin family needed to escape the city they would go to this Frank Lloyd Wright designed house that sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Erie. Restoration in progress, still highly worth a visit and a tour. ”

“An awesome place to hang out to view the lake. There is a small beer garden and adirondack chairs (or muskoka chairs for you Canadians). You have to take the Queen City bike ferry from Canalside (you don't need a bike to take the ferry) or you have to go all the way around which is a pain. There are a lot of bike paths from here as well along the water if you're into that.”
