Owner Nan Sefton offers classic old world decor with inspirations from India to the Bahamas. Her place is a riot of colour, featuring cotton prints, Christopher Spitzmiller lamps, and painted furniture that could all decorate a beach or country house. She also makes women’s bathing suits out of Indian fabrics—they’re whimsical in a Tory Burch kind of way. This neighborhood, Woollahra, has a charming village vibe. After Pigott’s, you must pop next door to Parterre, a fantastically curated garden store of pots, plants, and outdoor chairs that’s been a Sydney icon for 30 years. They mastered the Provençal look way before everyone else was doing it.
