While your coffee is served looking as dark as ever, it is also dunked with burning red hot charcoal cubes. Let it sizzle in – this is supposed to help neutralize the acidity in your coffee. Once it has fizzed completely, remove the charcoal and you are good to go with an unusual coffee fix – a local novelty! Tip: Remember to mention “no sugar please”, or enjoy your coffee with 10+ spoons of sugar in it (not even exaggerating!).
