Since 1899, Woodland Park Zoo has been a memorable part of the lives for Seattle residents and millions of visitors alike. When you are there, make sure to spend some quality time in the Living Northwest Trail which is modeled off a real trail in Alaska's Denali National Park and won the AZA Exhibit…
A very walkable and wooded zoo that feels much more natural (ok, I guess much less unnatural) than most big city zoos. They also host some great concerts and holiday themes.
Head north toward Green Lake and you'll hit nearly 100 acres of Zoo, with even more animal species in habitats specially crafted for them to thrive. Fun for all ages!
You would never expect such a large zoo just outside of downtown Seattle. If you visit, plan on spending the day. It's big! There are also breweries, restaurants and funky shops in Fremont, just down the street.
92-acre zoo with nearly 300 species, a vintage carousel, summer concerts & an indoor play space.
Seattle is lucky to have to have a wonderful zoo. We're a 10 minute drive away, so don't miss it.
I'm a sucker for zoos. My favorite exhibits at Woodland are the Tropical Rain Forest House and the Bug House

“A wonderful park for a stroll. There is a paved pathway around the lake (2.8 miles) that's filled with dogs, roller skaters, strollers, and bikes. You can rent paddle boats during the summer. There is also a Par3 golf course, sports fields, tennis courts, and walkways through the woods. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants located along the N/NE portion of the loop. ”
