This is a great park if you like to take long walks, jogs, or bask in the tranquil beauty of nature. It is owned and maintained by the Brown Memorial Foundation. (Google C.L. Brown, an early citizen who built a power plant on the Smoky Hill River, started United Utilities, created a large park complete with lake, boats, horseback riding, etc. that people visited from near and far). After hard times and stock market crash, etc. some of that could not be sustained, but Brown's Park is still home to a beautiful park and creek, a Boy Scout Camp, and large home for older citizens. Located south of town.
