Castle Rising Castle is a very popular destination as it is one of the best preserved, largest most decorated keeps in England. It is surrounded by 20 acres of mighty earthworks and is available to visit Monday to Sunday 10am-6pm.

A firm favourite since I was a child. I have always loved running up and down steps and this old castle has never disappointed me. It is a ruin but still immensely interesting. And located in a pretty village with outstanding tearooms and pub nearby!

CASTLE - Stunning! 'One of the largest, best preserved and most lavishly decorated keeps in England, surrounded by 20 acres of mighty earthworks.' ~ English Heritage ... Castle Rising would have been in all the home decor magazines if they existed in Medieval times. A little farther out, but lots to feast your eyes on. Definitely recommended if you love castles and architecture.....
