Disused railway converted to nature reserve in 1970, easy walking with stunning views. Passes within 200 meters of Hoe Grange. Ideal for cycling (borrow our bikes) walking, horse riding (bring your horse with you)

16 miles; All traffic free. Part of the National Cycle Network . The High Peak Trail follows the line of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway. This route takes in the stunning Derbyshire Dales countryside between Middleton Top and Parsley Hay. The trail is traffic-free

A beautiful scenic walk following the route an old disbanded railway line. The trail runs for miles into the National Park but a good loop (if you’re ok with hills) is to start at Cromford, walk uphill to BlackRocks (easily found on google maps) and along the ridge of the High Peak trail until it ends at High Leak Junction, then a leisurely walk back to Cromford along the Cromford Canal.

The closest of the old railway line walks. Theres a lovely walk from Hopton onto the trail and down to Blue Lagoon cafe for a coffee and back again. Theres a steep incline but its a great 6 mile walk for a sunny day.
