20 minute walk away there is a small ski-resort, where you can enjoy the snow and take a good look of the views for fairly affordable prizes. Good half-day activity which doesn't require any vehicles.

This is the place for all kind of winter sports like down hill skiing, traditional skiing , sledding. Also in summer you can go sledding. There is summer sledding track too!

Ounasvaara Ski Resort is just 5 kms from the town centre. Ounasvaara’s slopes are suitable for both beginners and professionals. Here you can also find year round hiking and biking trails, campfire places and sight tower, all within a short walk from the town centre.
