Not exactly in Rochester but just over an hour away in the town of Auburn is the former home of Harriet Tubman. History is sensitively presented here. Worth a visit to help gain an understanding of this aspect of US history.

For history buffs, this is the last residence of Harriet Tubman and was reportedly used as part of the underground railroad. Closed during the pandemic, it may be open now so call ahead. It's on the way to Skaneateles lake about an hour north on the east shore of Cayuga lake.

“Great hiking and views. If you are looking to get the most of Upstate New York you should make a point to visit Fillmore Glen State Park. Take the long hike up and around the North Rim Trail or a shorter hike just to see the bridges and falls. This park is a great late spring to fall!”
